Saracens Head

 Coronavirus Update - 10 May 2021.

It has now been confirmed that the next step of the lifting of lockdown will be going ahead from Monday 17 May.

From Monday 17 May the hotel will be open and our first guests will be allowed to stay overnight and of course to eat meals indoors.  The restaurant will be open to all non residents from Wednesday 19th and will be open as such from Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner each week over the summer, where you can also eat in the courtyard and marquee.

The regulations are as follows:

Indoor tables can be of up to six people (rule of six) from different households or any number of people from just 2 households.  Groups seated outside may be of up to 30 people.

Everybody will have to sign in with the NHS Test and Trace app or leave their name and contact number upon arrival.

Face Coverings must be worn when not sat at the table.

All orders for food and drink will be taken at the table and will be served to the table.  Bills and payment will be taken at the table.

The next and hopefully final step of the lifting of lockdown will take place on Monday 21 June.

Please give us a call or drop us an email to make a booking.

We are able to accept room bookings for reservation from Monday 17 May.  This can be done by pressing the Book Now button on the menu.

All the best and we're looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

The Saracen’s Head is a Georgian Inn nestled in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside that prides itself on being true to the spirit of its 200-year history, the unique county that surrounds it and its owners, Tim and Janie Elwes, who have made it their vocation to provide a place to eat, drink and stay that is at once timeless, absolutely modern and thoroughly welcoming.

The Saracen’s Head is a hard place to find, hidden away in the lanes of the wild countryside. The middle of nowhere, it would seem to be. But looking a little closer you will find that it is in the centre of everywhere!

North Norfolk has so much to offer and is attractive to people from so many different walks of life. Whether you are looking for somewhere to base yourself whilst discovering this part of East Anglia or just want to play golf at several courses without moving hotel each day then we could well be the ideal choice for you. We’re surrounded by Country Mansions and National Trust properties, there are beaches of every description within 35 minutes drive and when it comes to bird watching then you are spoilt for choice. All these and many more things can be enjoyed whilst you are in Norfolk, read more about our surroundings on the Around page.

Where we come into our own is to provide that wonderfully relaxed home from home where you can return after your day and unwind with a drink and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our chef, using the best local produce. Definitely, something to look forward to.

Well, here in the middle of nowhere you are in the centre of everywhere, so do read on and discover more about the Saracens and about North Norfolk.
