  Coronavirus Update - 10-11-2020

Well, here we are again, back in lockdown and hoping that it really will be lifted at the begining of December!

There is little to say apart from we will be ready and rearing to go just as soon as we are able to reopen.  At that time I would imagine that the regulations will be very much the same as they were when we closed, so that will be the rule of six and closing at 10.00pm, but we will have to see.

By the time we reopen in December, Christmas will be little more than three weeks away, so it wont give people very much time to organise any pre Christmas meals.  As opposed to having a dedicated festive menu this year we will be incorperating some more Christmas type dishes into our regular menu, giving you all the best of both worlds.  Just as soon as we have finalised the menu we will let you know.

Our plans for Christmas are that we will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day as well as lunch on New Years Eve.  Full details for the whole of December will follow soon.

New Years Eve is still a slight mystery and with the current regulations we will have to close at 10.00pm!  Again we will be revealing the menu before too long and we hope to know more about any curfew changes.

Best wishes to you all, take care and hope to see you in December.

Tim, Janie and the Saracen's Team

It has been great to see so many friends coming to have their first meal out since the middle of March.  So much excitement and a little anticipation at first, but we believe that although there have been changes people are soon relaxed and enjoying their visits back to the Saracens.

With the governments most recent update on covid regulations, here are how it will affect the Saracens and you:

Face coverings must be worn by staff and clients alike when they are moving around the restaurant and hotel.  They can be taken off when seated at your table or for residents, when you are in your bed room.

We cannot accept bookings of more than 6 people, who can be from up to 6 different households.

There is now a 10.00pm covid curfew which means that all our clients must be out of the building by 10pm, this also applies to hotel guests.

As we move into autumn we are only expecting the hardiest of our guests to want to eat in the courtyard and only at lunchtime on a good day!  In both the restaurant, bar and courtyard we are restricted to bookings of no more than 6 people.    If you have any queries on this please give us a call to discuss.

The Restaurant and Bar are open from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive, serving Lunch between 12.00 and 2.00pm, except Sunday 12.30-2.30pm and Dinner 6.30 to 8.15pm except Sundays 6.30-8.00pm.  We are closed between lunch and dinner.  We have moved the last food orders forward to 8.15 so that you have enough time to enjoy your meal without being rushed due to the 10.00pm closure.

There are several changes to the running of the restaurant and bar so as to comply with the covid regulations and to keep both our customers and staff as safe as possible under the current situation.

To help our customers and staff we have reduced the number of tables in each of the rooms, giving more space between tables.  When eating and drinking with us please help our staff who will offer you your food and drink either by tray or hand.  The will ask you to take drinks from the tray or food from them so as not to have to reach over you.  When they are clearing the table between courses please help by stacking your plates, again so that they can keep their distance.

We will only be able to accept advance bookings and for specific times, so please give us a call or drop an email with the date you would like and your prefered time. On occasion we may be able to take bookings at the door, but you may have to wait to be seated and to order.  The regulations state that clients must be taken directly to their table and that they are not allowed to move from their unless using the toilet or leaving.  We will take drink and food orders from the table and deliver them back to you.  It is not possible to stand at the bar to order or consume drinks.

The Restaurant

Pizza by the Park.

Matt and Elleni have now finished their delicious woodfire pizzas for the summer.  We all thank them for their hard work this summer and for making a lockdown idea come into fruition.  We hope that we will be able bring Pizzas by the Park back to the Saracens  in the spring.  Watch this space!

The Restaurant will be open Wednesday to Sunday inclusive each week, which will leave it closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Click on the link to see full details Summer Opening 2020.

Hotel Rooms

Our hotel rooms will be open from Wednesday 15 July and it is now possible to book them directly from this website by using the "Book Now" button on the main menu.  if you have any questions please let us know by either email or phone.  When booking please note that neither our bar or restaurant will be open on Monday and Tuesdays.  If you would like a list of local restaurants that are open on those day please let us know.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all again after this unwanted break, take care and keep well.
